The self-titled album by Iron Maiden was their first album, released in 1980. It was really refreshing to hear some really raw, down to the basics, heavy metal again. The sound is so unfinished and spectacular, compared to their later albums which were much more heavily produced and polished. This album is also the 1st and only album before they got their current singer Bruce Dickinson, and while the singer for this album was o.k., the band definitely is better with Dickinson. Just listening to the album you can hear why these guys have been so influential to future metal bands, they really paved the way for this genre.
