In 12 days my wife and I will be going to our first U2 concert. It is the one band that she has said that if she ever had the chance to see she was going to, no matter what. So it is fitting that I would be listening to this album at this time.
After less than great reviews of Rattle and Hum by critics and fans, U2 set out to re-invent themselves. Achtung Baby is the 1st of three albums in the process, the other two being Zooropa and Pop. In my opinion, and many others Achtung Baby turned out to be one of their best albums ever. It is full of hit songs, in fact each song on the album could easily have been a radio hit if released. It is more of a pop/industrial style album for U2 and really is completely perfect. This album definitely put U2 back on the path to being the biggest band in the world, a title that they will probably hold until they day they stop making music. 5/5
U2 best song, and quite possibly one of the greatest songs ever written.
