I remember the first time I heard this album, 1989. My friend Greg bought it and played it for me. I loved it then, and I love it now. Take amazing drums, add super funky bass and then throw in killer guitar playing and its pure funk heaven. Lenny Kravitz can do no wrong in my opinion. These songs aren't 3 minute and over pop songs. He's not afraid to take his time taking you where he wants you to go, and I love every minute of the ride. The message and the emotion of his lyrics are gripping.
I picked the song "Fear" not because it’s the most popular on the album but because I feel it best represents the overall feel of the album.
