This album was huge when it came out in '85. It sold almost 20 million albums and spawned 4 huge hit singles. Overall it was a really good 80's rock album. What is always surprising to me is when bands achieve this kind of success, things often fall apart for them. In the case of Dire Straits, it would be 6 years before they recorded another album, and even though it sold almost 15 million copies, it would end up being the bands last."So Far Away"
