#568 My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything

This album was a hot mess. The songs were poorly constructed, noisy mess what was just irritating. I have no idea what they were going for or, for that matter, what genre the band even is. It was just a mess and not enjoyable.

So out of curiosity I looked up the genre. It is called shoegazing and the style is "typified by the blurring of component musical parts—typically significant guitar distortion, feedback and obscured vocals—into indistinguishable mixtures of sound". Like I said it was a mess, but now at least I know that it was intentional.

Here's a good example: "All I Need"
